Immediately Past Rivers State Secretary to the Government (SSG) and Former Minister of Sports, Chief Dr. Tammy Danagogo, says he’s not hiding from arrest over assassination allegations and is open to police invitation.
Recent reports circulating in the media suggest that the Rivers State Secretary to the Government, Chief Dr. Tammy Danagogo, and Pastor Dr. Tombari Joseph Gbeneol are involved in an alleged conspiracy to assassinate the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike. It has also been reported that one of the suspects has been apprehended by the Nigerian Police.
Our correspondence had a telephone conversation with the former Rivers State Secretary to the Government, also a former Minister of Sports, Chief Dr. Tammy Danagogo. During our discussion, he dismissed these allegations, describing them as untrue and fabricated in an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
Chief Dr. Tammy Danagogo affirmed that he has never entertained such thoughts nor discussed such matters with anyone. The only relevant conversation he recalled was with Pastor Dr. Tombari Joseph Gbeneol last year, when he visited his office as the Secretary to the Rivers State Government to request assistance for a Christian pilgrimage and prayer trip to Israel. This request had not yet been granted before the declaration of emergency rules in the state.
He categorically denies the allegations, asserting they are baseless, fabricated, and misleading.
He further stated, “I am not in hiding. I recently met with the Rivers State Commissioner of Police at a public event; we exchanged greetings, and he did not indicate that any police commands are seeking my whereabouts.”
The claims circulating on online platforms are misleading, false, malicious, and deliberately crafted to tarnish his reputation. He affirms that he has no knowledge of the allegations.
Chief Dr. Tammy Danagogo explicitly states that he remains fully willing to cooperate with police investigations if invited and denies being in hiding, contrary to reports by online media platforms.
