In very strong terms, the Imo State House Of Assembly has condemned the gruesome murder of HRH Eze Jeo Benz Ochiulor, the Olu 1 of Otulu Amumara Autonomous Community and Mr Chiedozie Anyanwu, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Ward Chairman of Ife/Akpodim/Chokoneze, both in Ezinihitte Mbaise local government area of Imo State.

Moving the Motion titled “MOTION TO CONDEMN THE GRUESOME MURDER OF TWO PROMINENT PERSONS OF EZINIHITTE MBAISE AND TO URGE THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE TO EXPEDITE ACTION IN THE INVESTIGATION OF THE MURDER”;

Hon. Dr Henry Agbasonu, Member Representing Ezinihitte Mbaise State constituency, in tears, stated that Mr Chiedozie Anyanwu was murdered in cold blood at his business premises on Wednesday night, 22nd of November 2023 at about 8pm by some gunmen in police uniforms.

Hon Dr Agbasonu equally noted that on the 25th of November 2023, at about 7:30pm, the traditional ruler of Otulu Amumara Autonomous community , HRH Eze Jeo Benz Ochiulor was abducted from his palace while he was eating, and was murdered and dumped along Mbutu Ife/Amuzu road.

Hon Dr Agbasonu bemoaned what has befallen his state constituency, explaining that Ezinihitte Mbaise used to be one of the most peaceful local government areas in Imo State, until recently, when killings and abductions started, thereby making it difficult for indigenes to go home, while those already in the village, live in fear.

Furthermore, Hon Dr Agbasonu, in a worried tone, said that even security personnel are not safe and have been unable to uncover these criminal elements, despite efforts of the state government, pointing out that two police officers, one of them, a Divisional Police Officer, DPO, were killed recently, in a fuel station, at the Ahiara junction.

“I condemn this act of bloodletting, evil and wickedness in Mbaise nation. I am aware of the efforts of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma in fighting insecurity in the state. I therefore call for the beefing up on security in Mbaise nation, with the setting up of check points on :
