There was a mild drama earlier on Tuesday morning as security officials reportedly seized the passport of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, at the Airport while she was attempting to travel out of the country.
According to the Senator who went live on her Facebook official account, incident occurred during a routine clearance process when officials allegedly informed the Senator that there was an instruction to withhold her travel documents pending “further clarification”.
The reason for the action remains unclear as of the time of this report.

However, the Kogi-Central Senator alleged that the action was orchestrated by the Senate President Akpabio who has been at the center of several political controversies, as this isn’t the first time such is happening and has become a pattern.
The Senator described the situation as “politically motivated harassment”.
Efforts to reach her media aides for an official statement have so far proved unsuccessful and relevant authorities are yet to issue a formal explanation regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, supporters of the senator have taken to social media, expressing outrage and demanding transparency from the authorities, describing the development as “an intimidation tactic” against a courageous voice in Kogi.
