The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyede, has dismissed claims of Christian persecution in Nigeria.
Speaking today, Gen. Oluyede said there is no organized religious persecution taking place in the country, emphasizing that security challenges are primarily driven by terrorism and criminality.
“There is no Christian persecution in Nigeria. I want to assure Nigerians that, going forward, we are going to add more to what we are doing to checkmate this act of terrorism within Nigeria.” He said.
The Defence Chief reaffirmed the commitment of the Armed Forces to intensifying operations against terrorist groups and ensuring peace across all regions of the country.
He also urged citizens to remain united and avoid spreading divisive narratives that could undermine national cohesion.
