Imo 2027: Re-Alignment For Next Guber Contest Exposed, As Ow Zone Insists On Charter Of Equity

Political re-alignments have strengthened across political parties following the quest for the seat of governorship in the next Imo 2027 election.

Recall that politicians from Owerri zone have taken cognizance of the promise of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma to hand over power to the zone after the expiration of his second tenure.

Before Governor Uzodinma’s second term bid , Charter of Equity was signed into law in Imo state for a smooth running of governance and rotation of Guber seat across all zones in Imo state.

Newsmen gathered that political stakeholders are kicking against the state charter indirectly while Owerri zone has beckoned on Governor Uzodinma to implement his respected and excellent agreement with the people to smoothly hand over power to Owerri zone by 2027.

Orlu zone has featured Charles Orie against Owerri zone while Okigwe zone are still battling for a bid of either to feature Senator Ifeanyi Araraume or an Ex-Governor of Imo state Chief Ikedi Ohakim. Lonjas Anyanwu, Uche Nwosu, Izunaso, Athan Achunu and others.

Recall that Chief Ikedi Ohakim is likely to be considered by the unbeatable record he established during his days as Imo governor. The most prominent was the” Clean and green policy that brought Imo as the cleanest state in the Federation.

Regrettedly in Owerri zone, truck of aspirants are on the front banners of both newspapers, television and social media. The likes of Ex-Governor Emeka Ihedioha , former secretary to the Imo state government, Jude Ejiogu, Mike Ejiogu, Success Akagboronye, Chima Mathew Amadi, Ezenwa Onyewuchi, Stanley Amuchie, Collins Osuagwu among others.

With the list on the front banner of our News portal, the contest will not be an easy deal, pending the height of expected agreement or consensus in the near future as 9News Nigeria reports.

Meanwhile, more aspirants will definitely turn up as the 2027 Guber contest gets closer but the good number of politicians and Imolites interviewed on this development have expressed concern over the smooth hand over of 2027 governorship to Owerri zone as equity demands.
