OWERRI WEST IS PEACEFULLY ORGANIZED IN PREPARATION FOR THE CONGRESS- stakeholders
Plans are set to hold the All Progressive Congress APC local government congress elections across the states of the Federation this Saturday the 4th day of September 2021.
In Imo state Nigeria, the APC leadership through the state Chairman has announced the preparations of the party to mobilize APC members across the state to go out to the field to vote for their preferred candidates at the LGA congress.
Information made available to 9News Nigeria reports that the LGA congress will hold across the states of the Federation on Saturday 4-09-2021 to produce the party Executives at the Local Government level to pilot its affairs.
However, Owerri West local government area of Imo state Nigeria has set up a congress election committee to work out the best modalities to hold the congress as scheduled, comprising notable leaders from the zone.
In a meeting held at the council headquarters Umuguma Owerri West, party leaders pointed out the need for the party members to stay PEACEFUL and make the party the majority interest of the people at the GRASSROOTS.
Aspirants were told to work in line with the APC party regulations and election guidelines to embrace a successful congress.
The meeting recorded a great turnout of creme de la creme of APC leaders, political stakeholders, members and lovers of the party in owerri west.
Meanwhile, the same arrangements were told to be going on in virtually all the 27 local government areas of the state.
The party members maintained that the high gear to the congress has shown good proof of good alliance and affinity of APC members with both the state party Chairman and the governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma.
When 9News Nigeria visited the state party secretariat located along Okigwe road Owerri to confirm the actual position of the preparation for the LGA congress and purchase of nomination forms, the process was orderly amidst high-security intelligence and party discipline exhibited by the workers at the premises.
Recall that earlier yesterday, Thursday 2-09-2021, Imo state APC state Excos joined their party counterparts in Enugu State to partake in the highly sensitive mini converge to address the upcoming party congresses planned to hold on Saturday.
Presenting, at the Leaders and Stakeholders Meeting held in Enugu State, South East leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the South East Zone have resolved to continue to support the Next level transformation agenda of the Federal Government to take the Nation to greater heights.
The Stakeholders made the commitment during their meeting in the coal city while commending the Leader of the APC in the South East, Senator Ken Nnamani for his sterling leadership of the Party in the Zone.
Besides, the calibre of Igbo Leaders present in APC is an indication that the upcoming Local Government Congresses and the already concluded ward congress will unite the party as an indivisible family.
In their conclusion at the mini-summit, hear this, “If we are together, we can win elections, let us stop castigating ourselves. The Igbo man is becoming a laughing stock in our Nation Nigeria” APC leaders posited.
It is, therefore, the interest of the masses particularly those of the APC Family to set a good example of leadership through party elections and congresses.
Owerri West is indeed intact just like other local government areas visited by our team to evaluate the state of preparedness of APC for the Saturday congress.
