Imo Boils At Sam Amadi’s Sudden Support For Gov Uzodinma’s Successor

A foremost public affairs analyst, respected scholar, politician, activist and former Chairman/CEO of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Dr. Sam Amadi has made a strong case for the governor of Imo State, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, CON, to produce his preferred successor at the end of his tenure in 2028.

The Ngor-Okpala born politician who had shown interest in the governorship of Imo State both in 2019 and 2023, emphasized that the governor is a brilliant and likeable persona, who is very experienced in politics and the Nigerian power dynamics, recounting his many years of active involvement in the game at the highest level.

Recalling his encounters with the governor, over the years, Amadi, a legal expert and teacher, confirmed that Governor Uzodinma is a hard-working and honest businessman who had secured contracts from various federal government agencies before his ascension to the Imo State governorship seat. This confirms the long known narrative that the Omuma born businessman, strategist and politician, has maintained a traceable history of wealth and industry through his life.

While Governor Uzodinma is more focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to Imolites in line with his promise of “Shared Prosperity”, rather than allowing himself to be distracted by 2027 politics, Dr. Amadi’s early and unsolicited campaign is a clear vote of confidence from a notable critic and opposition leader on Uzodinma’s performance in office over the last five years.

Dr. Sam Amadi’s affirmation of Governor Uzodinma’s performance and his concomitant popularity among the Imo electorate is appreciated. However, at the right time, Governor Uzodinma, shall align with the APC and majority of Imolites to elect a popular, visionary and technocratic, “Shared Prosperity” aligned candidate to take up the mantle after his tenure terminates on the 15th of January, 2028.
