As a follow-up to the recent transport fare reversal by the Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on Youth Affairs Comrade Eric Uwakwe, The SA Youth Affairs on tuesday, 8th february, 2022 paid a working visit to the Dean of Students’ Affairs of Imo State University, Very Rev. Father Phillip Ogbonna where matters concerning the security and welfare of Imo students were discussed for possible implementation.
9News Nigeria Owerri gathered that the visit afforded comrade Eric Uwakwe the opportunity to reveal to the Dean, of government commitment to enhancing the welfare and security of the students of Imo State University hence the need to partner with the institution.
This partnership the SA Youth Affairs explained will create a working synergy and harmony between the Senator Hope Uzodinma’s led 3R Government targeted at enhancing the human capital development index of the state and curb all forms of vices akin to young people.
The Dean of Students’Affairs Imo State University, Rev Father Professor Philip Ogbonna thanked the SA Youth Affairs for the visit and assured him of the readiness and commitment of the students of Imo State University to supporting the Government of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.
The Dean while thanking the Governor for his commitment towards raising the academic welfare standards of the students through the provisions of basic infrastructures, also pointed out to the SA Youth Affairs of the University’s move to create a new Shuttle bus Park within this University so as to effectively monitor the activities of the bus drivers for the safety of students.
The visit was of great importance to the students having chatted possible remedy to improve the security, transportation and welfare of Imo state University Students while plans to extend same to other Tertiary Institutions in Imo state is expected to be Inline through the office of the SA to governor Hope Uzodinma on Youth affairs.
