Imo LGA election: APC candidates win in Obowo by a landslide

The Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) has announced the candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as winners of the chairmanship and councilorship elections in the Obowo Local Government council area.

9News Nigeria reports that the APC candidate for Chairmanship, Barr. Obioma Ehirim and Onuoha Onyebuchi Benjamin who contested for Councilor of Okwuohia ward alongside other councilorship candidates were declared winners in the Obowo LGA election respectively as the ruling party secured 32,118 votes out of the 50,825 accredited votes.

The ISIEC officer, Steve Raymond Grace made the declaration on Sunday 22, September, insisting that voters turned out in good numbers and coordinated themselves appropriately throughout the exercise.

Recall that the Imo state chapter of the APC on Saturday stated that the party was satisfied with the process of the local government election in the state. 

The ISIEC conducted the process competently by upholding democratic principles and ensuring transparency.
