Petrol Marketers Strike Action: Why Governor Uzodinma's Government Should Not Be Blamed

BY PRINCELY ONYENWE, IMO

The Coalition of Imo Youth Organisations which comprises the entire youths in Imo State both in tertiary institutions and beyond have issued out an Immediate ultimatum to the petroleum dealers in the state to resume sales FORTHWITH or face the wrath of Imo youths.

This is in line with the content of the release signed by the youth groups given the petroleum marketers 24 hours to suspend the strike or face the wrath of the youth populace, which they said the citizens had been badly affected by the halt of fuel supply to the state.

The 24hours ultimatum which takes immediate effect early hours of today comes after the Executives of the body Lead by HON PRINCE FORTUNE CHINONSO had an emergency meeting and made a press conference to that effect.

The Imo youths want to make it clear to all imolites that we are grieved over the sponsored strike.

Fuel marketers in the state had since MONDAY this week stopped selling fuel to motorists and citizens in the state because the shared prosperity administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma refused to pay a COMPENSATION to their member whose filling station was demolished by the last TWO PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION in the state.

However, the Youths in the state who unanimously issued out the 24hours ultimatum, claimed that they were the worst hit and affected by the strike.

Hon. Prince Chinonso during the press briefing says the Imo Youths wants peace and the only way to sustain peace is for all of us to work with the shared prosperity government of the day.

“Let the oil marketers suspend the strike within 24hours and if they can’t do it, they should get ready to face the wrath of Imo youths”

“The youths, businessmen and women, motorist and artisans in the state are badly affected”

“Even the most worrisome was the hike of transportation fare due to the strike, even now our students are taking their WAEC.

“We suspect that they have been bought over by opposition and enemies of the state to destabilise Gov. Hope Uzodimma’s shared prosperity government. We believe that their resolve not to sell fuel was purely political,” Hon Prince Fortune Chinonso said.

The Coalition of Imo youths through her spokesperson Hon. Prince Fortune Chinonso, who also said the marketers was being spurred on by the opposition to inflict pain on imolites.

The coalition, therefore, issues a 24hours ultimatum to PETROLEUM MARKETERS to suspend strike or face the wrath of Imo Youths.

However, Information revealed to us has confirmed that the Petroleum dealers are being sponsored by the oppositions and enemies of the state.
