Imo youths can be Self-reliant if properly empowered- Gov Uzodinma

Imo state governor, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma has assured Imo youths of continuous empowerment through the office of skills and acquisitions to showcase and Improve their respective talents to be self-reliant.

In his words, “I SEES GREAT POTENTIAL IN EVERY IMO YOUTH” Uzodinma through the office of the Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor on Youth Affairs, headed by Hon. Eric Uwakwe, have re-assured Imo Youths of series of youthful events targetted at showcasing raw talents of youths in the State.

The youths are therefore charged to willingly present themselves to be empowered by the 3R administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma, through skills acquisition and also be ready to benefit from the state government takeoff fund.

Eric Uwakwe however reiterated on the saying that “give a man fish and you feed him for a day, but teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime and assured Imo youths of Government funding to execute their skills.

To this effect, youths in the State, irrespective of political affliation are charged to utilize

this lifetime opportunity to empower themselves.

In practice, this will help in reducing social vices, and making the youths their own boss, as well as employers of labour in the society.

On the contrary, the youths have lamented the delay of release of state funds to mobilize them after taken part in series of government programs to Improve their skills.

Also, any good Government policy must be able to capture the demands of the youths by keeping to promises and taking the affairs of the youths as most important.

The beneficiaries of state empowerment are calling on the state government to release funds immediately after every empowerment session for immediate execution of skills.

The GOVERNOR hinted that the reason behind all the programmes mapped out for youths under this administration which includes, the 250,000 empowerment fund, for 15,000 Youths, Agro farm training, one youth one farm and all others is to make Imo YOUTHS self-reliant and self-employed with little support from 3R government.
