The member representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency of Osun state in the National Assembly, Representative Bamidele Salam has charged Nigerian youths to take charge of the present and the future by doing extraordinary things in the new year.
In a new year message personally signed by him, Salam said the realities of the present times in Nigeria has shown that only those who will go extra miles to acquire relevant skills and build broader networks of relationships will make meaningful progress in 2021 and beyond.
While explaining that there are so many local and global opportunities that can be accessed by determined young persons to overcome the multiple challenges of the present times, the lawmaker advised youths to make better use of the Internet and online resources to build their capacities, make better friends in order to grow in their businesses and other spheres of life.
He also admonished youths to stop being cynical about political engagement but rather seek to be the difference they wish to see in the political landscape through their own exemplary conduct in the groups and societies they belong to.
Salam reiterated his conviction in the ability of Nigerian youths to save the country from the precipice which it has been pushed into by moral decadence and Leadership ineptitude.
He however stressed that those youths who will drive the process of a better Nation must be prepared for the onerous task by broadening their knowledge, capacities and interpersonal skills beyond the average.
In the words of the House of Representatives member, ” the fact that there is an apparent failure of in economy, security and virtually all aspects of our National life should challenge us to ask critical questions about what we did or what we are doing that is leading to these failures. If we ask the right questions and provide honest answers, we should be courageous to turn a new leaf”
While wishing Nigerians a happy new year, the Federal lawmaker said the only thing that can make 2021 different from any of the previous years is the commitment we make as individuals and communities to be better in all our conduct than we had ever been.
Rep. Salam added that our faith in God must be backed by positive thoughts words and actions to manifest into an enduring progress in the areas we desire to see changes.
While praying that God showers his mercies on Nigeria, Salam said he has a personal assurance that 2021 will witness some strange divine intervention that will help the cause of those who put their trust in Him without wavering.
