The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognized former Senate President, David Mark, as the new National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The Commission also acknowledged former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, as the National Secretary of the party.
The recognition marks a significant turning point in the leadership of the ADC, one of Nigeria’s prominent opposition parties.
David Mark, a two-term Senate President and long-serving legislator, brings decades of political experience to the position.
Likewise, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who served as Minister of Interior under former President Muhammadu Buhari and as Governor of Osun State for eight years, also brings to the table a wealth of administrative and political experience.
Stakeholders believe the ADC will likely convene a national convention soon to consolidate its leadership and articulate a clear roadmap for the future.
