Plateau State Government has declared that it is in a state of war with terrorists and enemies of the state.
The declaration was made after an emergency State Security Council meeting convened by Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang at the Government House in Jos.
Secretary to the State Government, Samuel Jatau, says the council reviewed the worsening security situation and agreed that the attacks were coordinated.
The meeting involved security chiefs, local government chairmen, and traditional leaders, including the Gbong Gwom Da Jacob Gyang Buba.
The council resolved to strengthen enforcement of the ban on motorcycles, night grazing, and illegal mining activities, while reclaiming ungoverned spaces through intensified security operations.
Government also pledged to provide more vehicles and motorcycles to security agencies to improve rapid response across the state.
Traditional institution were also put on notice, with the counci advising traditional rulers to exercise higher control over cultural associations operating under their jurisdictions.
The council further directed stronger collaboration between communities and local security agents, warning that blocking highways would now be treated as a criminal offence and pledged to protect farmlands ahead of the farming season and declared a crackdown on drug dealers, carriers, and users across the state.
