– CHARGES TRADITIONAL RULERS TO GUARD AGAINST STRANGE MOVEMENTS WITHIN COMMUNITY

Due to the rising insecurity in the country that has claimed thousands of lives, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has challenged religious leaders to seek the face of God for the sustenance of peace in Nigeria.

Speaking with the erstwhile Senate Committee Chairman on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Sam daddy however charged Traditional Rulers and their cabinet members to design ways to monitor movements of strange elements within their communities as part of efforts to nip the ugly trend in the bud.

Anyanwu, a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State regretted that the spate of kidnappings, bombings and killings all over the country were getting out of hand hence, requires urgent intervention, and pleaded with both Christians and Muslims to embark on spiritual exercise.

He advised leaders of both religions not to allow tribal sentiment to affect their mode of intercession for the country, noting that until everyone comes together in unity, the call for peace would continue to elude Nigeria.

Senator Anyanwu expressed optimism that where human efforts and security fail, God’s intervention was necessary to remedy the situation before the current upheaval in the country degenerates to another civil war.

“What is going on in Nigeria today has gone beyond mere physical security; Christians and Muslims all over the country should rise up in prayer to remedy this insecurity menace. This is not time for blames, but time for spiritual cleansing. As a practical Christian, I believe that God remains the only solution to this malady, if only we can call on him sincerely without harboring any tribal sentiment. Surely, he will bring this situation to normalcy” He stated.

Special Adviser (Media) to Senator Sam daddy Anyway Ikenna Onuoha hinted the press that Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu posited that where human lives and properties were not guaranteed, the activities of government, individuals and the economy would be in shambles

He therefore pleaded with all security agencies to rise to occasion to forestall further occurrences.

Anyanwu, while urging Nigerians to remain prayerful in the ongoing security challenges in the country, also enjoined them not to hesitate to report any suspected cases of security lapses to relevant authorities for prompt attention.
