The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has waded into the ongoing crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by summoning the two opposing factions.
According to reports, the electoral body summoned the PDP warring factions for a troubleshooting meeting at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja on Friday.
The convergence is currently underway and has the Tanimu Turaki-led faction and the Nyesom Wike-backed Abdulrahman Mohammed faction in attendance.
Others who accompanied Turaki are members of his National Working Committee (NWC), secretariat staff and former Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State.
On his own part, Mohammed was joined by members of his national caretaker committee, including the secretary, Senator Sam Anyanwu.
