UTME 2026: JAMB Rolls Out Fresh Batch of Results for April 20 Candidates
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has continued its phased release of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, with candidates who sat for the exam on Monday, April 20, now able to check their scores.
9News Nigeria reports that the latest update marks another step in JAMB’s ongoing daily result processing cycle since the nationwide examination commenced on April 16 across accredited computer-based test centres.
In a brief notice issued on Tuesday, the board confirmed that candidates from Monday’s session can now access their performance through its approved channels. JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, said the results have been uploaded and are ready for retrieval.
Candidates are expected to check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to either 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number used during registration.
The board has adopted a staggered release pattern for this year’s UTME, publishing results in batches corresponding to each day of the examination. Earlier, results for candidates who wrote on Thursday were released first, followed by a combined batch for Friday and Saturday.
However, the process was not without hiccups. The Friday and Saturday results were delayed beyond the initially communicated timeline, triggering widespread anxiety among candidates. JAMB later issued an apology, explaining that the delay was due to the unavailability of its chief executive, who was engaged in official duties at the time.
Despite the setback, the board resumed its release schedule on Sunday, April 19, before proceeding with the Monday batch now made public.
With over two million candidates participating in this year’s UTME, JAMB’s phased approach is aimed at ensuring accuracy and integrity in the result processing system, as the examination exercise continues nationwide.
