Just in: South-East PDP regroups to plot 2023 Presidency

In order to have a common front and also forestall further decamping from their ranks, the People Democratic Party – PDP in the South-East has summoned past, present serious office holders and major stakeholders of the region to a zonal meeting to put their house in order against their ambition to produce the next President of Nigeria in 2023.

The meeting which was steered by the newly inaugurated Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party in the South East, Chief Ali Odela from Ebonyi State was monitored by 9news Nigeria who saw all past and present ndigbo of PDP extraction in attendance in government House, Enugu on Sunday 6 December 2020.

It was as gathering of the who’s who in the party. In the attendance were the following:

Former Senate President -Anyim Pius Anyim (Ebonyi), former governor of Ebonyi State and incumbent senator, Senator Dr Sam Egwu, former governor of Anambra State- Dr Sir. Peter Obi, Enugu State governor – Rt Hon. Lawrence Ugwuanyi, former deputy senate president – Sen. Dr Ike Ekweremmadu, former governor of the old Anambra State – Chief Jim Nwobodo, Abia deputy governor, senate minority leader – Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, former governor of Imo State- Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Sen. Obinna Ogba of Ebonyi Central, speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly- Rt Hon. Ubosi, former Minister of Culture and Tourism-Chief Amb. Frank Ogbuewu (Ebonyi), former Minister of Mines and Steel- Chief Amb. Lawrence Nwuruku (Ebonyi), former Minister of health- Chief Fidelis Nwankwo (Ebonyi), Sen. Ama Nnachi of Ebonyi South zone, Hon. Chief Anayo Edwin of Ezaa North/ Ishielu Federal Constituency and many others.
