National Examinations Council (NECO ) yesterday released the June /July 2018 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSCE ) results with 71 per cent of the candidates having five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.
Besides , about 90. 5 per cent scored five credits and above, irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.The Acting Registrar /Chief Executive Officer of NECO , Alhaji Abubakar M . Gana, also disclosed a drastic decrease in this year’ s examination malpractices .
Gana said about 9 , 000 of the candidates who registered for the examinations did not sit for the papers.
“ A comparative analysis of candidates with five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics for 2017 and 2018, shows 70.85 per cent for 2017 and 71.48 per cent for 2018, showing an increase of 0 . 63 per cent in 2018” , the registrar said.
