Two Police officers were gunned down by yet to be unidentified gunmen,at a checking point in Kabba, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

9News Nigeria gathered that,the gunmen were coming from Ekiti State heading to Abuja in a sport utility vehicle(SUV) via kabba road.They were asked to stop for a routine check,they declined and instead opened fire on the officers killing two and injuring others.

According to sources,the incident happened aroud 5:00PM on Monday at Origa checkpoint along Kabba-Iyara road.

The remains of the two policemen were said to have been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital in Kabba, while the injured are said to be undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

The Police spokesman,DSP William Aya could not be reached as of the time of filing the report.
