Scottish giants Celtic FC have officially confirmed the signing of Nigerian International Kelechi Iheanacho on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old forward has penned a one-year deal with the club, joining as a free agent following the mutual termination of his contact with Sevilla this week.

Iheanacho, who left Sevilla on Monday, September 1, now reunites with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.
The pair previously worked together at Leicester City, where the striker made over 200 appearances, scored crucial goals, and helped the Foxes win the FA Cup in 2021.
The Nigerian international began his professional journey at Manchester City, where he lifted the League Cup before seeking a transfer to Leicester in 2017.

In 2024, Iheanacho joined Sevilla, but found limited opportunities in Spain.
He later secured a loan move to Middleborough in English Championship, where he closed out the 2024/25 season.
Iheanacho, with nearly 60 caps, played a pivotal role in the Nigeria’s impressive run to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2023, further cementing his reputation as a player for big occasions.
Rodgers expressed excitement about working with Iheanacho again. “I know Kelechi so well and what he can bring to the team”, he said
“He is such a talented player, with great ability, athleticism and work-rate. I am sure he will love being at Celtic, and our fans will love what he brings with his proven pedigree and experience across Europe, Iheanacho is expected to make an immediate impact in the Scottish League.
His move to Celtic gives him the chance to revive his career especially under a tested manager like Rodgers who trusts him.
The striker won the FA Cup and Community Shield under the Scotsman, scoring 43 goals during Rodgers time at Leicester.
However, with Africa Cup of Nations coming up in December and World Cup next year, this move is a perfect opportunity for Iheanacho to convince the Nigerian national team coach, Eric Chelle that he truly deserves a place in the national team.
