The Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, has directed a statewide shift toward proactive, intelligence-led policing following a strategic meeting with senior officers.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the command’s spokesman, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, on Monday.
Here are the key takeaways from the meeting:
1. Proactive and Holistic Security Approach
CP Abdulmajid ordered Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers to adopt a more proactive approach in their areas of responsibility. He stressed robust security deployments across Borno State to address current threats.
2. Focus on Professionalism and Community Trust
DPOs were charged to uphold professionalism and use diplomatic methods when handling community issues. The CP emphasized strengthening community engagement to build public trust and cooperation.
3. Intelligence-Led Policing
Officers were tasked to intensify intelligence gathering and improve information sharing between units. The goal is to prevent and respond to security threats more effectively
4. Sallah Security Plan in Place
Ahead of Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the Command is working with other security agencies to roll out a comprehensive strategy to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah across the state.
5. Public Urged to Stay Vigilante
The public was called on to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements or activities via the Command’s emergency lines: 0806 807 5581 and 0802 347 3293.
The meeting was attended by DCP Evans Elam Shem (Operations), DCP Babagana Saje (SCID), DCP Bala Salihu Jarumai (Finance & Administration), and other senior officers
