Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on Sunday received All Progressives Congress (APC) defectors from Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State into the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Kwankwasiyya Movement.

The defectors, who were received at Kwankwaso’s residence in Kano, pledged their loyalty and commitment to the movement’s vision for Nigeria.

In a statement, the vice presidential candidate of the NDC expressed delight over the defection and assured the new members of equal treatment and fair opportunities within the party.

The defectors also pledged their loyalty and unwavering commitment to the movement and it vision for a better Nigeria.

He said the NDC remains committed to building an inclusive political platform for all members. Kwankwaso added that the party continued to grow stronger with the influx of new members and remains focused on expanding its support base ahead of future political activities.

This came barely 24 hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) published credentials and personal details of Kwankwaso and the presidential candidate of the NDC, Peter Obi, in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

The duo are former presidential candidates in 2023 in various political parties. They defected to All Progressives Congress, (APC) and then dumped the party for NDC, citing internal divisions and court cases.
