An associate of Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, Architect Aminu Abubakar Dabo, has refuted the rumored exit of the former Kano governor from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dabo reacted while speaking to newsmen in Kano on Monday.
He insisted that Kwankwaso was still a member of APC, adding that the report of his defection as reported in some quarters was untrue.
“Indeed that we have been having meetings upon meetings is a normal routine of every politician.
“The meetings we have been having are not about decamping as reported,” he said.
Dabo further stated that Kwankwaso would still visit Kano and that a new date would be announced for the visit following the directive issued by the Senate leadership.
He stressed the need for APC as a political party not to take sides in intra-party crisis especially those pertaining to states.
Kwankwaso, recently spoke on his shelved visit to Kano amid security concerns.
“The retreat of a ram does not mean cowardice. I only heeded the call of some respected personalities in Kano and Abuja to suspend the visit”, he said.
“Save for the time I was in Kano on condolence visit when the governor’s mother died, I have not been in Kano for almost three years”.
