Lagos Family Petitions Igp Over Alleged Attacks On Members

Taiwo Kosoko representing four families presently living at 115, Enu-Owa Street, Idumota, Lagos have petitioned the Inspector- General of police (IGP) Mr. Idris Ibrahim over the alleged constant attacks on their families and property by some persons in the community.
In a petition signed by Lookman Agboola and sent to the police chief, with copies to relevant authorities, the attackers were identified as Yusuf Giwa, Moshood Olawale Thomas, Oluwole Nosiru, and Jamiu Tijani (Godo) with various policemen they lure to their side to fulfil their dastardly act.
At a separate press briefing in Lagos, Kososko on behalf of their families said they are seeking the intervention of the Inspector General of Police on the matter.
“We seek intervention of the IGP to curtail the breakdown of law and order and the wanton abuse of police powers and office more so, where some policemen were manipulated to wrongly act in favour of yusuf Giwa, Moshood Olawale Thomas, Oluwole Nosiru, and Jamiu Tijani etc. He added.
“We appeal to the Inspector-General of police to ask them to leave us alone as we are the rightful owner of the property, we already occupy and taken possession of the property for over one hundred years and still living at the place NO. 115(A), Enu-Owa Street, Idumota.
“We lament the serious backing of policemen to this hoodlum in maliciously demolishing our building structures and also carting away valuables without any court order, he explained. “Recently these land grabbers boasted that they will solicit the support of the Lagos Monarch the royal majesty Oba of Lagos, Oba Riliwan Akiolu, to achieve their dreams of hijacking our property which we know that the Oba will never succumb to their evil plans”
“We also wish to inform IGP that upon our numerous petitions to all police formations used by these unscrupulous elements, yet they normally have access to certain police officers to accompany theme to these acts.”
When contacted for his comment and the others accused, Mr. Yusuf Giwa on behalf of his group said: “We have not done anything wrong, the house No. 115 (A), Enu-Owa street Idumota Lagos belongs to the royal family, Oba Riliwan Akiolu and as you know I am a prince, so, the land belongs to us, and we will continue fighting them with everything we have until we get the place.”
Taiwo Kosoko reacted to the comment of Mr. Yusuf Giwa thus: “Mr. Giwa is a liar, they have been going to the Oba’s palace to lure him into claiming our property, but the Oba has not sais anything so far, as he will not like his royal name to be dragged into confusion by these land even Mr. Yusuf Giwa is not a prince as he claimed, the property ownership is not debatable, it is ours, so we appeal to the IGP to help us in the hand of these land grabbers” he concluded.
