For the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved a 276-member National Campaign Council to monitor and show solidarity for their candidate Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji “AMBO”
The council was inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
National Campaign Council Leadership includes
Chairman: Sen. Hope Uzodimma- Governor of Imo State & Chairman, Progressive Governors’ Forum
Co-Chairmen:
1. Mai Mala Buni – Governor of Yobe State
2. Sen. Godswill Akpabio - Senate President
3. Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas - Speaker of the House of Representatives
Deputy Chairman: Ibrahim Kabir Masari – Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters
Secretary: Sen. Barau Jibrin – Deputy Senate President

The 276-member Council for Osun Governorship election comprises “party leaders, governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, lawmakers, and other stakeholders.
Specialised sub-committees were also set up for: Election Planning, Finance, Grassroots Mobilisation, Logistics, Media, Security, Youth, Women, PWDs, Protocol, Monitoring, etc.
APC restrained itself from releasing the full list of all governors, ministers, and NASS members on the 276-person council. The names above are the ones specifically mentioned in the official notices signed by National Secretary Sen. Ajibola Basiru.
