Chief Longers Anyanwu has been confirmed as the Imo State Commissioner for Agriculture, following his appointment by the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, CON.
His confirmation follows a successful screening by the Imo State House of Assembly, during which lawmakers assessed his qualifications, experience, and vision for the state’s agricultural sector.
The appointment has been described the Imo state All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Chief Austin Onyedebelu as well deserved, reflecting confidence in Chief Anyanwu’s capacity to drive policies and programmes aimed at enhancing food security, increasing agricultural productivity, empowering farmers, and promoting sustainable rural development across Imo State.
As Commissioner for Agriculture, Chief Anyanwu is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing the administration’s agenda for economic diversification through agriculture while increasing the sector’s contribution to the state’s development.
His confirmation clears the way for him to formally assume office and begin implementing the agricultural priorities of the Uzodinma administration.
