Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, has disagreed with the presidency on the recent claim of the latter that Miyetti Allah, a cattle-breeding group, is likened to other socio-cultural groups in the country.
Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, had on Tuesday said Miyetti Allah is like Afenifere, Ohanaeze and should not be criminalised due to certain bad eggs among the group.
He defended the recent meeting between the Federal Government and the cattle-breeding group, saying the gathering was to proffer solutions to the recent spike in crimes in some parts of the North.
The presidential spokesman also denied the group was offered monetary compensation during the meeting to help curtail violence allegedly being carried out by its members.
But disagreeing with Mr Shehu, the former minister said Miyetti Allah is not like other groups known to be peaceful while making their demands.
“No they are not,” Fani-Kayode said in series of tweets on Tuesday while accusing the group of shielding armed herdsmen.
“They are an association of butchers of cows and men. They are the purveyors of violence, the custodians of falsehood and the repositories of evil. They are as perfidious as they are dangerous!
“They are an umbrella organisation of dark, callous, bloodthirsty and merciless men that seek to legitimise, shield and protect the Fulani herdsmen, the fourth most deadly terrorist organisation in the world.
“Comparing them to Afenifere or Ohaneze is like comparing the Church of Satan and the Cosa Nostra to the Vatican and the Anglican Communion,” the minister said.
