A Fulani Sociocultural Association, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has inaugurated its first batch of security outfit :Nomad Vigilante Group’ in Nasarawa State.
The National President of the Association, Alhaji (Dr) Abdullahi Bello-Bodejo inaugurated the security outfit on Wednesday at the Lafia city square, Lafia.
Speaking on the inauguration ceremony, Bello- Bodejo, said the Nomad vigilante group ains to help secure the livelihood of farmers and herders, and aid information gathering and intelligence to the country:s conventional security agencies of criminals within the local communities.
“Today is the official launch of 1,140 youths into the Nomad Vigilante but our target for Nasarawa State is 4,000 which would be completed on or before February 5th”, he said.
Bello-Bodejo charged the Nomad vigilante to be truthful and work with the fear of God as they embark on this peaceful journey of bringing peace to the communities.
The Miyetti Allah leader appealed to Nigerians to stop ethnic profiling as every tribe has its bad eggs as well.
Also speaking, the National Secretary of the Association, Saleh Alhassan said, “The Nomad vigilante Group is not merely an initiative but it is a manifestation of our shared commitment to economic prosperity, job creation, exclusivity, and the relentless fight against banditry, cattle rustling, hunger and poverty.”
In his remarks, the Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, said the Nomad vigilante group would add value to the country’s security architecture in the state.
CP Nadada said the police would work hand in hand with the group to achieve the desire result.
