Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has announced plans to discontinue his legal action against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Adeleke disclosed that he had directed the state Attorney-General to withdraw the suit, following a telephone conversation with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the freezing of the state government’s accounts.
“I have instructed my Attorney-General to drop it. Mr President has done well. He called me. What more do I want?” Adeleke said.
The governor’s decision comes after the EFCC froze several Osun State government accounts in connection with an investigation into the state’s finances.
The development had triggered a legal dispute between the state government and the anti-graft agency, with the Adeleke administration challenging the financial restrictions in court.
