MultiChoice Loses Over 3.7M Subscribers in Less Than Two Years

MultiChoice, the parent company of DStv and GOtv, has suffered a significant decline in its subscriber base, losing over 3.7 million customers in less than two years.

The drop in subscriptions comes amid growing competition from streaming services, economic challenges, and shifting consumer preferences.

Reports suggest that factors such as rising subscription costs, increased availability of internet-based alternatives, and economic pressures in key markets have contributed to the decline.

MultiChoice, which remains one of Africa’s largest pay-TV providers, has yet to release an official statement on the development.

However, the company has been exploring various strategies, including expanding digital offerings and introducing flexible payment options, to retain and attract customers.
