NAFDAC seizes N41.2m counterfeit wines in Nasarawa

To safeguard public health, the National Agency for Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has raided shops and seized counterfeit and adulterated wines and spirits worth over N41.2million in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

NAFDAC disclosed this in a statement via its handle on Monday.

According to the statement, the raid was conducted on wine shops in Mararaba Market, New Nyanya and Masaka areas of Karu, resulting to the seizure of the products worth millions of Naira.

“NAFDAC’s Investigation and Enforcement team is actively investigating the importers or manufacturers behind these counterfeit drinks.

“NAFDAC urges consumers to remain vigilant and report suspicious products to the nearest NAFDAC office for immediate action”, the statement added.
