Note that the mandatory Service Year is 35 while Retirement Age is 60. And whichever comes first the officer should be lay off.
This has already been the case of almost all the Service Chiefs.

- Chief of Defense Staff has exceeded Service Year by FOUR YEARS.
- Chief of Army Staff has exceeded Service Year by TWO YEARS.
- Chief of Air Staff has exceeded Service Year by SIX YEARS.
- Chief of Naval Staff has exceeded Service Year by TWO YEARS.
So, why is President Buhari still keeping them after exceeding Service Year as well as Retirement Age.
