The 2019 Presidential candidate for the Action Alliance Congress (AAC), activist Omoyele Sowore, was one of the organizers of the nationwide protests against the government in Nigeria.

Sowore has announced that the planned 10-day nationwide hunger protest will resume on October 1, 2024. He made this declaration while addressing the media in Abuja and assured the government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that if there are no changes between August and October 1st, a stronger nationwide protest will occur.

He also disclosed that there are ongoing meetings between the organizers and the citizens to strategize for the next phase of the protests.

“If the cost of living doesn’t improve, the next phase of the nationwide hunger protests will not be easy,” he added.
