The Police Service Commission on Wednesday announced the redeployment of Commissioners of Police across Nigeria ahead of the country’s 2019 elections.
This development coming 9 days to the 2019 general elections saw the replacement of several police commissioners. Mu’azu Zubairu officially takes over from Imohimi Edgal as the Commissioner of Police in Lagos, while Kayode Egbetokun, who until this redeployment was acting Commissioner of Police in Lagos, has been appointed the Commissioner of Police in Kwara state.
Egbetokun served as chief security officer to APC Chieftain, Bola Tinubu, before he became the commandant of Police Training School, Ikeja, Lagos.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the police commission Musiliu Smith has asked the understated Commissioners of Police to proceed immediately to their new commands ahead of the polls.

This year’s Presidential election is scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 16, 2019, alongside National Assembly polls.
While the governorship election and State Houses of Assembly elections are scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2019.
