The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that it has reached an agreement with German tactician, Bruno Labbadia, to become the Head Coach of the Super Eagles.

The NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sunusi, said in early hours of Tuesday, August 27.

The NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to appoint Mr Bruno Labbadia as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles.

Labbadia coaching career has been marked by highs and lows.

He won the German BundlesLiga with Bayern Munich in 1994 as a player and went on to manage several top-tier teams, including Bayern LaverKusen and Hertha BSC.

However, his last stint as manager of Stuttgart ended in disaster, with the team plummeting to the bottom of the table, leading to his dismissal in April 2023.

The NFF is hoping that the new coach, with relegation record can turn the Super Eagles fortunes around, making it a world brand.

Labbadia appointment came as a result of the departure of George Finidi in June.

He is the sixth German Coach to take the helm of the national team, and the 37th Head coach of the Super Eagles.
