Nigeria mourns the passing of a distinguished public servant, diplomat, and leader, Ambassador Ahmed Algazali, OON. He died at the age of 84.
Ambassador Algazali’s impressive career spanned leadership roles in the Federal Civil Service Commission and diplomatic missions in Iran and Saudi Arabia.
The news was announced by his son, Abdulhamid Al-Gazali, Editor-in-Chief of Yerwa Express News (YEN.NG).
Ambassador Algazali hailed from a prominent Nigerian family with deep roots in academia and law. He was the eldest son of the revered judge Khadi Alkali Gazali.
His brotherly legacy includes the late Professor Muhammad Nur Alkali, a former Vice-Chancellor and presidential advisor, and the late legal luminaries Barr Ibrahim Gazali and Late Mahdi Gazali Mni.
His family’s commitment to service continues through his surviving siblings, including Barr. Tijjani Gazali, SAN, and Barr. AlAmin Gazali.
The burial for Ambassador Algazali will be held today at 4:00 PM at the Gazali Family Masjid in Fezzan Ward, Maiduguri, following Islamic rites.
The Algazali family requests prayers for the departed Ambassador to find peace and eternal reward in Jannatul Firdauz (Paradise).
