Nigeria, Canada Sign BASA on Code-Sharing

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially signed its portion of the Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) with Canada, focusing specifically on code-sharing arrangements.

The agreement was finalized on Friday in Abuja, with Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, signing on behalf of the country.

According to Keyamo, his Canadian counterpart had earlier signed the agreement in Ottawa and transmitted the document through the Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Pasquale Salvaggio, who represented Canada at the signing ceremony.

The agreement is expected to enhance aviation cooperation between both nations, allowing designated airlines from Nigeria and Canada to share flight codes.

This development will improve connectivity , thereby expanding air travel options for passengers traveling between Nigeria and Canada.
