NIGERIANS are doing their best to prove to the world that there is greatness in the Nigerian content.
This time meet Miracle Izuchukwu, a 23 year old Nigerian born Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot (candidate) and Flight Attendant at American Airlines.
Information revealed to us was that she recently joined the elite group of 7% of females and 1% of black female Pilots in the world.
According to the young upcoming pilot, she has maintained that she grew up in a society that did not encourage young girls to dream big, career-wise.
“I remember watching lots of TED Talks to give myself more insights on possible careers that might interest me but to no avail,” said Miracle.
Meanwhile, In 2019, she had an encounter with an Airline Pilot while working as a customer service rep.
The pilot however opened her eyes to the possibility of becoming a Pilot.
She said she was amazed and a few weeks later, she went on a discovery flight that sealed it for her.
While expressed her encounter with the pilot, Miracle said that she came home that day, called her father, and told him she was considering becoming a Professional Pilot.
Her father said, and I quote: “if he gets on a plane and sees a woman as the Pilot, he would get off the plane” words cannot explain the pain and confusion miracle felt. But because of her ambition, she needed that validation,” she narrated.
She futher adviced the leaders and politicians and spirited sponsors to focus on ability instead of gender.
The 23 years old pilot had earlier promised to make Nigeria proud and appreciate the American Airlines for giving her the best in her dream to become a reality.
Over here, America celebrates ability and not mere paper certificate rhetorics, she stated.
