A Nigerian passport holding man with the name GODWIN SYLVANUS AMAMCHUKWU was discovered dead while still on his seat on board Ethipian Airline passenger plane arriving in China.
The airline crew made the shocking discovery when the aircraft had landed in China airport.
The crew must have noticed the passenger still seated motionlessly while the rest of the passengers had disembarked the aircraft and gone into the airport arrivals .
Meanwhile, information reaching 9News Nigeria confirmed the passenger as a native of Okpuno in Awka South Local government of Anambra state, Nigeria.
Also, the President General of Okpuno progressive union has been contacted on the incident following assistance from a 9News Nigeria reporter who had a first hand information on the matter and verified from the town’s union.
According to a relative to the deceased who hailed from Ezinifite village in Okpuno, Awka South Local government of Anambra state, the family of Mr. Godwin Sylvanus Amamchukwu are now aware of the mishap with great shock and heavy heart.
As at the time of this report, the Okpuno progressive union president had contacted Ethiopian Airline and the Nigerian consulate in China who promised to give every possible assistance to the family in order to follow up with legal and diplomatic arrangements to bring the deceased’s corpse back to Nigeria.
