Nigerians Can Now Obtain UAE Visas – FG

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reached an agreement with United Arab Emirates (UAE) regarding the Visa ban on Nigerians.

Nigerian passport holders can now obtain Visas to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), starting from Monday, July 15, 2024.

The Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris disclosed this on Monday, while briefing State House correspondents after the weekly Federal Executive meeting.

A statement released on the Minister’s X handle reads:

“The FG, UAE Reach Agreement on Resumption of Travels for Nigerian Passport Holders.

Following successful talks and extensive , mutually beneficial negotiations between the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria @NigeriaGov, an agreement was reached allowing for the resumption of travel to the UAE for Nigerian passport holders.

This agreement includes includes updated controls and to facilitate obtaining UAE Visa.

The resumption of the Visas will be effective from July 15, 2024. Nigerians wishing to visit http:/documentverificationhub.ae for additional information”.

Recall that the Arab country in 2022, imposed Visa restrictions on Nigerians and nationalities of other African countries.

The affected countries are: Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cameroon, Liberia, Burundi, Republic of Guinea, Gambia, Togo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Benin, Ivory Coast, Congo, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Comoros, and Dominican Republic.
