The National Judicial Council (NJC) on Friday in Abuja recommended 64 candidates to some State Governors for appointment as Judicial Officers.
In a statement by the NJC Director of Information, Mr Soji Oye, it was stated that this is part of concerted efforts put in place to enhance the judicial system in the country.
Those recommended are Justice Ozoemena Raymond Afojulu as Chief Judge of Enugu, Justice Nathan Musa as Chief Judge of Adamawa, Kadi Abubakar Musa Mohammed Kigera as Grand Kadi, Sharia Court of Appeal for Niger State and Kadi Usman Aliyu Girei as Grand Kadi of Adamawa state.
Others are Justice Shiyanbola Raheem Akanbi as President, Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Eneji Maurice Odey, as President, Customary Court of Appeal, Cross Rivers and Wajilda Peter as President, Customary Court of Appeal, Adamawa state, Justice O. I. Nwamoh as President, Customary Court of Appeal, Abia State and Justice Blessing Lyop Dalyop as President, Customary Court of Appeal, Plateau state.
The States involved are; Sokoto, Nasarawa, Ogun, Rivers, Lagos, Ekiti, Katsina, Jigawa, Ebonyi and Cross River.
