The Nigerian Law School Class of 1988 (NLS Class of ’88) has congratulated Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, on her election as President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
The group described her victory as a well-deserved recognition of her distinguished legal career and years of dedicated service to the profession.
In a congratulatory message signed by its Chairman, Ike C. Ibe, Esq., on Sunday 19, 2026, the association said Badejo-Okusanya’s emergence followed a keenly contested election and reflected the confidence of members of the Bar in her leadership, integrity, competence and commitment to justice.
The group noted that her election marks another significant milestone for the legal profession and expressed confidence that her administration would further strengthen the Nigerian Bar Association, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.
According to the statement, the NLS Class of ’88 believes the new NBA President will also advance the welfare of lawyers across the country while reinforcing the association’s longstanding role as a strong advocate for constitutional democracy, judicial independence, the rule of law and the protection of fundamental rights.
The association further described her emergence as an inspiration to both members of the legal profession and the wider public, saying it demonstrates that hard work, competence, integrity and selfless service continue to be rewarded.
“The Nigerian Law School Class of 1988, comprising distinguished members of the Bar and Bench, assures you of its goodwill, support and cooperation as you embark upon this important national assignment,” the statement read.
The association also offered prayers for divine wisdom, strength, courage and good health for the new NBA President, expressing optimism that her tenure would leave a lasting legacy of progress, unity and excellence within the Nigerian Bar Association.
