The Nigerian Senate has reacted to Nigeria’s complaint over too many expenses of the National Assembly.
Senate has foreclosed the possibility of the National Assembly reducing its expenses because of the economic hardship occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidies.
The chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi told Newsmen that the National Assembly is not responsible for any economic hardship facing the country.
He recalled what he described as many Cogent roles, including the committee works and oversight roles, played by the lawmakers without any allowance attached, insisting that calls for them to reduce their expenses can not be possible .
