Governors from the 19 northern states will convene on Saturday 29, November 2025 for a high-level meeting aimed at addressing the worsening security situation across the region.
The meeting, expected to bring together the Northern Governors’ Forum, will focus on the persistent threats of banditry, kidnapping, farmer–herder conflicts and insurgency that continue to affect millions of residents.
According to officials, the governors will review current security strategies, evaluate collaboration with federal agencies, and consider new joint measures to restore stability.
