Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has issued a powerful call for accountability among Northern Nigeria political leaders, particularly those who have held office over the past two decades.
In a candid interview, Governor Sani stated that those who once served within government circles should not detach themselves from the current challenges facing the region.
“When you’re fighting a government that you were part of, you contributed to the situation where it is today.
“Anybody from Northern Nigeria who held a political office in the last 20 years — all of us must look at ourselves in the mirror and apologize to the people of Northern Nigeria. We let them down.” Governor Sani said.
Governor Sani’s remarks follows growing concerns about insecurity, poverty, and youth disenfranchisement in the North, which have fueled widespread dissatisfaction with political leadership.
The governor emphasized the need for a collective sense of responsibility, stressing that real change can only begin when leaders own up to their past decisions and their consequences.
Governor Sani has been vocal in recent months about repositioning governance in the North, advocating for education, security, and economic reforms as key pillars of development.
