The Unveiling of Onion Newspaper In Owerri Imo state Nigeria recorded huge success having graced by numerous dignitaries across all works of life.
The event was targetted at celebrating the second year anniversary of Onion Newspaper which is an offshoot of one of the most trending local tabloids in Imo state Nigeria, Nigerian Horn Newspaper.
The Publisher and Chief Executive officer (CEO) of the celebrating tabloid, Lolo Chioma Ogechi Njoku expressed happiness for such a wonderful turn out of dignitaries that witnessed the Unveiling event.
Recall that two years ago, on the 20th day of June 2020, Onion Newspaper was born into the family of the Nigeria Horn Group of Newspaper.
With unprecedented performance in News carriage and circulation, “The Onion” stands out, dishing highly scintillating stories that dwell most of the time on human angle and quality reportage.
The CEO Chioma stated that the height,The Onion has acquired was through relentless and tireless efforts and team work by her management and Board of directors.
The guest lecturer, Professor Okee Okoro of the Department of Information science, Imo state University anchored his provoking topic on the devastating effects of fake News in the contemporary political climate in Nigeria.
The Unveiling was done by array of notable dignitaries among who was the Traditional Prime Minister of Anara Ancient kingdom and the Chairman of the occasion, High Chief Mike Ejiogu, Akaekpuchionwa.
However, High Chief Mike Ejiogu is a true definition of philanthropy and a beacon of Hope for the less privileged. TPM Ejiogu is the chief Executive of City Gate HOMES, ABUJA Royal Suites, Mbano Royal Suites, Snow waters Lagos Visioni and Strauss Nigeria Limited among other business conglomerates.
Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of categories of awards to Nine Awardees which included, Chief Longers Anyanwu, Hon. Chief (Mrs) Ruby Emele, Chief Chikwem Onuoha, Engr. Sir Emeka Okwuosa, Chief Charles Ahize, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, High Chief Mike Duru Ejiogu, Luxury Building and Accessories Limited, Owerri and Kings.com E-Marketing Limited, Lagos NIGERIA.
