The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Rivers State Chapter, led by Ambassador Chimenem Worlu, has reacted over the upcoming local government Election scheduled for 5th October 2024.

The leadership has asked for the suspension of the Local Government Election following the court ruling by Justice Peter Lifu, which declared the election illegal due to the failure of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) to issue a mandatory 90-day notice.

Amb Worlu strongly urged all youths across the 23 local government areas of Rivers State to boycott the election. He further reiterated that the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) is committed to upholding the rule of law and justice and will not support any unconstitutional process in the state.

So I kindly advised Rivers State Youths to stay out of the 5th October Election to avoid breaking down of order, “added “
