The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially scheduled the 2026 BatchA Stream 1 Orientation Exercise to begin across all 37 orientation camps in Nigeria on Wednesday January 21, 2026.
According to a statement released on the scheme’s of registration for all the Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) will run from January 21 until midnight on Friday January 23.
The swearing-in ceremony is also set for January 23 marking the official start of the compulsory three -week programme, which will close on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
The NYSC Director-General Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu urged in coming corps members to prioritize safety while traveling to their deployment states, especially cautioning against embarking on night journeys.
He also stressed the importance of strict adherence to the orientation timetable to ensure a smooth and successful exercise.
The orientation course a mandatory initial phase of Nigeria’s one-year national service programme combines paramilitary drills, civic education, cultural activities, and skills acquisition sessions aimed at fostering national unity and preparing Corps Members for community development roles.
Prospective Corps Members have been advised to regularly check official NYSC channels for updates on call-up letters, camp guidelines, deployment details as the orientation date approaches.
