Governor of Edo state Godwin Obaseki, has said he is resolute in his decision to deal with people scheming to disrupt the forthcoming September 19 election in the state.
Obaseki during a campaign visit to his ward Opoji, Esan central local government area of the state said, though he had gotten Intel to put a hold on his campaign in the ward, he however is determined not to bow to all threats received.
He said,
“ While I urge PDP members and supporters not to succumb to threats, we will tame the lions and tigers in Edo with relevant laws of our country. ”
MediaOrchid recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier stated that it would be a hold on the Governorship election in Edo and Ondo. States respectively if politicians go contrary to the provisions of the law.
Also, the Centre For Democracy and Development (CDD) blew the whistle on discovery of weapons which is said to be put together ahead of the Edo election.
Assuring his people and making reference to the event that played out on the day of flag off of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, where members of the PDP were attacked, Obaseki said,
“ All is been put in placed to ensure a strong security beef-Up come September 19.”
He also assured the people of the area of the construction of the Opoji-Irrua road that which will help attract more development to the area.
